Rachel spent 4 years in the washington’s foster care system.

Rachel attended Seattle Pacific University, previously wanted to obtain a degree in Communication with an emphasis in Journalism, but is currently taking a year off to determine her course of study. Persevering through all the hard times she was the captain of the swim team, a member of InterAct and Key Club for two years. She was a mentor for Building Futures and a volunteer intern at the Synergy Sound Recording Studio for a year; she also volunteered as a radio show host for KPTZ 91.9. Rachel was 2014 Horatio Alger National Scholar and a 2014 Governor's Scholar. She was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. In Rachel's free time she likes to do cross fit, journaling and spend time with friends.
