Jenaya Meyer entered Nevada’s child welfare system at the age of 16. She transitioned to multiple placements including congregate care and kinship placement.

While in care, Jenaya balanced working and volunteering with Ron Wood Family Resource Center. Not only that, but she graduated highschool with honors, and advanced placement classes.

 

In Jenaya’s senior year she participated in the Jumpstart program at Western Nevada College where she earned college credit while still in highschool. Some of her accomplishments include receiving three academic awards, becoming a part of the National Honor Society, and becoming an ambassador for the National Society of High School Scholars.

 

Furthermore, she will be receiving the Millennium scholarship, the Greater Nevada Credit Union scholarship, and the University of Nevada, Reno Pack Pride scholarship. In the fall of 2018, Jenya will be attending the University of Nevada to pursue a bachelors of science in accounting.
