Emelie experienced 8 placements in the State of Georgia’s foster care system.
While in care, Emelie experienced many challenges including physical altercations and running away. Despite these challenges, Emelie persevered and showed resilience. Now, she is living in a stable placement while working at a daycare center and maintaining her grades in high school. Emelie is dedicated to serving her community in a variety of ways. This year she participated in a road cleanup, and she sings with her church regularly.
In the future, Emelie hopes to open her own daycare or become a flight attendant.
Emelie says, “I give back because it was given to me so I decide to give to those who gave to me!”
