Washington: Mockingbird Youth Network

About this resource

The Mockingbird Youth Network brings together young people who have experienced the child welfare system first-hand and want to share their stories so that tomorrow’s foster youth will not have to face the same challenges they did.

MYN participants across the state work with Mockingbird staff members, our service provider partners, and local policy makers to learn advocacy skills, get involved in their communities, and become leaders. The connections and skills that young people in the MYN develop help them to thrive and launch into successful adulthood and independence. The positive reforms they develop and champion improve the lives of youth in foster care today, and those that come after.

MYN maintains six chapters across the state: http://mockingbirdsociety.org/index.php/mockingbird-youth-network/mockingbird-youth-network-chapters
