Administrative Coordinator

Pronouns: She, Her, Hers

Jeanette grew up in McMinnville, OR and now lives in Astoria, OR...Home of the Goonies! Her sister-in-law used to live in the Goonies House and her youngest daughter went to Astor Elementary...the Kindergarten Cop school!

She has so many hopes and dreams she still wants to fulfill, while helping others do the same on this journey called life, and she believes it’s NEVER too late to start! She loves to work with her daughters training and riding their horses, as well as going to the beach to listen to and watch the ocean waves. This may come as a surprise, but Jeanette can throw loose quarters, stacked on her elbow, and catch them in her hand, on the same arm she throws them from!

She has always been interested in this field of work because her mom, several family members and friends were either in foster care and/or adopted and she heard their stories...good and bad. When growing up, they always had friends at their home and barn with their 8 horses, as a safe place to land, regroup and recharge. Jeanette truly feels happy and satisfied in her work when everything is completed and in place for the staff and LEx Leaders, to have what they need to do this important work! A bonus is getting to make connections with the youth, becoming friends with them and watching them grow and create new futures for themselves.

Through her work at FosterClub, she hopes to continue to be a cheerleader, friend and mentor to youth as they navigate life. She knows that while life is not always easy, it’s worth it and never give up! Surround yourself with positive people and don’t be afraid to reach out and ask for guidance or support when you don’t know what to do next.

Prior to working at FosterClub, Jeanette worked for Oregon State University Extension Service, with 400+ youth and 150+ adult volunteers yearly, doing various events, camps, County Fair and State Fair. She loved getting to watch the youth learn new skills and grow up into young adults. She is still connected to several who have families of their own now! Jeanette has been serving as a Board Director, since 2012, for Astoria School District. And while it has been challenging at times, especially during Covid, it has been rewarding to help make a difference in the lives of many youth.
