FosterClub extends its deepest condolences to Congresswoman Jackie Walorski's family, friends, colleagues and constituents, along with the family and friends of her two staff members, Zachery Potts and Emma Thomson, following their tragic deaths.

Congresswoman Walorski (R-Ind.) was a dedicated champion for young people in foster care. She spent her career working diligently to ensure support and stability for current and former foster youth. The Congresswoman listened directly to young people and responded with urgency.

Congresswoman Walorski served as Republican Leader of the Subcommittee on Worker and Family Support within the Committee on Ways and Means. She worked with Chairman [Danny] Davis to pass the Supporting Foster Youth & Families through the Pandemic Act, which provided $400 million in emergency pandemic relief to current and former foster youth. She also worked with Chairman Davis on efforts to extend critical provisions to prevent youth from exiting foster care during the pandemic.

FosterClub and our network of Lived Experience Leaders are grateful for Congresswoman Walorski's care for young people in foster care, as well as her bipartisan leadership. She will be missed by all whose lives she has touched.
