Webinar: Supporting Immigrant Children & Youth in Care

The National Foster Care Youth & Alumni Policy Council invites you to a webinar to discuss their newest priority: Supporting Immigrant Children & Youth in Foster Care!

Recent years have seen an increase in attention to children who enter the United States as immigrants. While the focus has largely been on those who enter via the southern border, the experiences of youth who are in both the immigration and foster care systems remain under-examined. Over the last year and a half, a workgroup of 11 Council members have engaged in their priority making process on the topic of immigration and foster care.

In this webinar, Council Members will outline key priority areas and demonstrate how imperative lived experience leadership is at every level - from creating priorities to engaging young people in the implementation of laws - to ensure youth and families are meaningfully supported. You can view the priorities at nationalpolicycouncil.org

The National Foster Care Youth & Alumni Policy Council, a partnership project administered by FosterClub and Foster Care Alumni of America with support from Casey Family Programs, convenes to provide federal stakeholders with relevant and timely information as policies and procedures are created that will affect children and families throughout the country. The Council represents a collective viewpoint of youth and alumni who have experienced the child welfare system first-hand. We have been an integral force in educating and informing the child welfare field for the last decade, and look forward to the next!
