After engaging in negative activity, Tyrick sought out to finish his schooling. After graduating Clara Barton High School, Tyrick went onto community college where it was challenging but he was able to graduate. He currently attends John Jay College, majoring in Criminal Justice. From his experiences he has learned to live life the “ gentle way” by practicing judo. From Tyrick's prior experience with running into the law as well as the streets, he wants to help create programs for youth and adults in the correctional system. Tyrick now teaches judo to younger youth in his community which makes him become more understanding and able to connect with people. Tyrick is humble, understanding, respectful and most importantly a foster child.
