Sophia Winn spent 5 years in Idaho's foster care system.

Miss Winn has spent 5 years in the Idaho foster system and currently aims to graduate on high school honor roll and go on to college to sing or become a choir teacher or developmentally challenged preschool teacher. She is the treasurer of the Idaho Foster Youth Advisory Board and an active member of the Youth Adult Partnership and the Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Groups in her school where she advocates for STD prevention and proper birth control methods. She loves talking to other youth to help encourage them and remind them that they are never alone.
Since being at her high school, Sophia has been on high honor roll nearly every quarter and won first place in a poster board contest put on by the APP group. She is affiliated with CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) and believes that the foster system has made her into a stronger more mature person. Although it has been a rough journey, she feels it has helped her prepare for challenges in the future and she has met many helpful people along the way.
Sophia has many interests, but her current favorite is the Idaho Youth Advisory Board where she attends pride panels, youth groups, and reaches out to schools to speak about foster care. She loves to sing and write poetry and feels that these have been two very special escapes throughout her life.
