Michael Rogalski spent 4 years in Ohio's foster care system.

Michael Rogalski is a remarkable young professional who plans to someday become a City Manager, and we are certain he will contribute positively to society and are excited about his future. He feels that “There is no reason anyone should suffer unnecessarily. It is our responsibility as human beings to assist and create change when possible. We have the responsibility of not ignoring the unethical or wrong at all costs. Our experience has or will only make us stronger, smarter, and wiser.”

Michael had a brief initial foster care placement at 13, and then was soon returned home. From the age of 14 until 18 ½, he lived in a variety of placements, including foster homes and group homes. In contrast to these challenges, Michael has already demonstrated incredible leadership and vision. Michael works in the Cleveland Municipal Court Housing Division, and his awards include the Peter J. Dickson Service Award, Bedford/Walton Hills Democratic Party; Underdog Award, Cleveland State University Student Government Association; Recognition of Achievement; Cuyahoga County Board of Commissioners; Perfect Attendance Award, Cleveland State University Student Government Association; Recognition of Achievement; Cuyahoga County Children & Family Services. He currently serves as the president of Alpha Phi Epsilon Alumni Association, and is a member of the American Planning Association, NAACP, FCAA, Bedford Heights Democratic Club, the Bedford Heights Historical Society, and many others. He also served as senator for the Cleveland State University Student Government Association and is a member of the academic fraternity Phi Sigma Pi, of OFA/FCS is a Glory Scholar and a Radiance Scholar.
