Lien Le

A present employee for Walgreens in Arkansas, Lien Le hopes to better her environment and her community. Her goal is to become a surgeon. Living in a shelter, she has been in foster care for two years. She acknowledges facing many complications as a foster youth, and she wants to be involved with helping to make changes in foster care for those who follow her in foster care. She is currently on the Arkansas Youth Advisory Board for foster care. She has participated in Ourtown (organization of Arkansas communities, the Perry Initiative organized by the University of Medical Science, and in Youth Move Arkansas. Her volunteer work lists the Little Rock Food Bank, the school art club, and the Clinton Library as well as for Fire Safety Day. She says, “It is important for young people in foster care to improve the system because foster care youth know of more problems that go on in the system.” She sees her involvement as an opportunity to learn leadership and influence change.
