Jose Gibson spent 10 years in the Oregon Foster care system.

 

While in foster care Jose experienced 16 fostercare placements and was adpoted out of the system to a wonderful home.

Jose participated in organizations like YoungLife and The Well. In 2015, Jose received the "Marsha Hoffman" award. He experienced 16 fostercare placements and was adpoted out of the system to a wonderful home.

 

This award is given to students who had outstanding academic and personal growth over a span of over 3 years. Also in 2015, Jose was awarded the "Oregon West All Conference Honorable Mention" award for cross country, and eventually received  the "Oregon West 2nd Team All Conference Award" for cross country in 2016. By 2017, Jose was named the Male Athlete of the Year for Cross Country for the Oregon West District.

 

Jose and his dad also volunteer at the Turner Fire Department and received a Certificates of Appreciation. In the future, Jose would like to attend a college that offers a criminal justice degree.

 

Jose plans to continue being involved in the Cadet program until he is 21, and plans to pursue a career with local law enforcement.
