Jonathan spent 4 years in Massachusetts' foster care system.

Jonathan’s desire to make a difference is evident in all he does. He was born in Haiti and immigrated to the United States at a young age. Jonathan has experienced challenges involving immigration status, housing, school and financial. He took charge by enrolling into the Youth Villages Life Set Program and moving in with his grandmother. Jonathan serves as his grandmother’s caretaker; he attentively and lovingly cares for all her needs. Currently, he is in his Junior year at Bridgewater State University where he is pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Operations Management; his long term goal is to earn a Master’s Degree. Jonathan would like to start a home medical supply business; he became interested when he realized the needs of patients like his grandmother. Many supervisors have commended his exemplary spirit of kindness; Jonathan has been recognized by the Massachusetts General Hospital where he both volunteered and interned. Jonathan uses his experiences to connect with others through the Youth Village Scholars Program, Youth Villages fundraisers, interning at a local charter school and connecting with youth on an individual basis.
