Isaiah spent 6 years in Iowa's Foster Care System

Isaiah knows about foster care. He was removed from his home and put into a group facility at age twelve with no idea what to expect. A number of foster care placements followed until he finally "aged out" of Supervised Apartment Living. Despite the road blocks placed in his way, Isaiah is a success and has decided to help others. Isaiah believes the lessons he has learned can help others, “I feel it's my obligation to help advocate for foster youth because I did not just become another statistic and now that I am on the right track it makes perfect sense for me to give back to what helped me get here. ” Isaiah was the first person in his family to graduate from high school--and did so with a 3.0 GPA. He is employed at a nearby university, where he drives trucks and delivers food to the student centers. Isaiah finds time to volunter as well. He does everything from Relay for Life, Polar Bear Plunge, Dance Marathon, and various activities his fraternity does to help support St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
