During his 4 years in the foster care system, Elante experienced multiple placements including foster homes, group homes and residential treatment facilities.He is a hard worker, and will not be considered "another statistic" of the foster care system. He graduated high school a term early and works every day. He participated in the 2016 Congressional Foster Youth Shadow Program where he met with his Congressional member to share his experiences in care. Elante would like to advocate for other LGTBQ foster youth, especially those less supported.
Elante is enrolled in college. He would like to pursue a career as a Film Director and as a Screenplay Writer. As a Screenplay Writer he will share his testimony on how he overcame the obstacles of being in the foster care system and shed light on the positive moments. Elante will not be a statistic and will strive every day to better himself and others.
