Dimon Sanders has been in foster care in Arizona since the age of eight.  She was placed in 13 different placements before being adopted out of the system in 2014.  Dimon began competing in pageants through the Miss America Organization because she had low confidence and low self-esteem.  In June of 2017, she was crowned Miss Arizona’s Outstanding Teen. She has dedicated her time advocating for and giving a voice to foster care youth.  Dimon works with several organizations including CASA, I Am You 360, and GoodThreads to name a few. She raised over $600 to help pack duffle bags to send to kids in care to ensure that they no longer receive trash bags/crates for their belongings.  She has spoken on numerous panels and events to ensure that people understand the need for foster parents and CASAs. Graduating this year, Dimon plans to attend college to study education; she wants to advocate for students with special needs. She will also continue her work with CASA and will be advocating for kids in foster care.
