Christine Hambly spent 6 years in Oklahoma's foster care system

Christine went into foster care at a young age, survived an unsuccessful adoption and re-entered foster care until she aged out. She plans to graduate this December with a BSW in Child Specialization and then work toward a Master's Degree. Christine is very active in Ris4Thursday helping former foster youth who attend Northeastern State University. She is President of Ris4Thursday foster care alumni student organization and up the National Assoc of Student Social Workers. She is active in the leadership council and an Oklahoma Foster Care Advocate. She trained as a CASA for Cherokee County. Christine received a NCWII child welfare specialisation traineeship program scholarship and is a national honor society member. Her career goal is to work with youth to help overcome their challenges and support their thriving accomplishments.
