Baylee Brown, 19, spent 3 years in Idaho’s Child Welfare system.
They experienced two placements, one kinship, and one foster home that ended up in a guardianship.
Baylee graduated high school on the honor roll and is now a student at North Idaho College. It is the second semester of their first term, and they have earned a 3.87 GPA along with getting on the Dean’s List. They have also received multiple awards for their strengths through Trio at their school.
Baylee became the president of the Twin Falls Idaho Independent Living Program for two years, which then led to them being involved with the Youth Advisory Board of Idaho; where they are the Co-Chair and listen to the groups’ thoughts and ideas for projects, they work on. Passionate about children and giving back they also volunteered over fifty hours between the Boys & Girls Club and the Idaho Youth Ranch.
In Baylee’s free time, they enjoy music, writing, playing video games, and outdoor activities. They also enjoy playing the piano and longboarding. Believing that self-care is a necessity for a healthy lifestyle and doing things for oneself is a good thing. Whenever they can, Baylee enjoys being involved in activities at school and within the local community.
Baylee plans to complete their Bachelor’s in Social Work, with an Associates in criminal justice. They hope to remain on the Dean’s List, as education to them is important. Baylee aspires to become a social worker to work with foster children like themselves and work with others to make their community better.
They want to help children grow.
